However there is an alternative in ZAP - its a fork of Paros and is being actively maintained. http://www.owasp.org/index.php/OWASP_Zed_Attack_Proxy_Project It supports new features such as passsive scanning, brute forcing (using DirBuster code) and a port scanner. It has also been interationalized and has been translated into quite a few other languages. Involvement is actively encouraged - all are welcome:) The last release has been downloaded nearly 5000 times since it was released in January, and we're planning to release the next version in June.
